On a beautiful day when my daughter was visiting from Texas I asked the kids if they wanted to go to lunch and then to the park. Of course they said yes. So it off to Wendy's for hamburgers, fries, frosty's and soft drinks. After all was consumed it was a chore deciding which park to go to. The lucky one was the park with the tire swing. This device some of you might know is a tire suspended by three chains connected to a swivel. You can be swung and turned around at the same time. Spencer wanted to go first, which he did. Beside my grand kids there were also about 5 other kids willing to take turns riding and pushing. They were all in a circle pushing and spinning Spencer. He was yelling and laughing to beat the band, having a good time. About five minutes into the spinning process I heard him yell "STOP" with fear in his voice. Everyone moved forward to grab the tire and stop it but it was to late. Spencer was spinning so fast that he shared his lunch with anyone within three feet of the tire swing. When the swing stopped, Spencer was feeling fine but everyone else was either running to the water fountain to clean up, going to the cars with parents or running home, if they lived near by, to change clothes. That ended the trip to the park for us and a lot of other people. On the way home Spencer said "grandpa can we stop for something to eat?" You can imagine what my answer to that was.
God Bless Spencer for providing an interesting day at the park.
