SALMONELLA IN PEANUT BUTTER

I like peanut butter. I like to put it on bread, crackers or even put it on a spoon and nibble from there. Not only is it good, but is good for you.
If you haven't seen the news or read a newspaper in the last few day, there is an outbreak of "SALMONELLA" in this country. It has been discovered in 43 states and Canada. The outbreak has been traced back to a Georgia plant owned by Peanut Corp. of America, which makes peanut butter and peanut paste. The government says we should stay away from cookies, cakes and other foods that contain peanut butter. They do say that it is OK to eat peanut butter sold in jars. Whats the difference?. According to this news article there have been 485 cases of Salmonella reported to date. I wonder it this will also find it's way back to China.
